For Austin McDonald's general manager Araceli Sandoval, the key to becoming a Ray Kroc Award-winning manager was first becoming a great leader.
José secured aid for his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies in Educational Emerging Technologies through the Archways to Opportunity program. Despite limited opportunities, his self-motivated learning led him to great achievements. José now leads McDonald's Hospitality Department.
When Carmen moved to Texas in 2008, she began working for McDonald’s and supporting her household. While her kids were in high school, she was able to work alongside them. Now a McDonald’s general manager, she dreams of working the drive-thru even when she retires.
Samantha lost her job in 2020, but McDonald’s offered her a new start. Now a general manager, she has found financial stability. Her journey continues as she aims to use McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity for future education.
Austin general manager Lucero, known affectionately as 'work mom' by her crew, balances work and motherhood thanks to McDonald’s flexible scheduling. She sees her crew as a second family, crediting McDonald’s for strength and helping her achieve her goals.
While working as a McDonald’s supervisor in College Station, Joshua enrolled at Colorado Technical University and recently graduated with his degree in business. Through McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program and flexible scheduling, Joshua was able to work and earn his degree.
Training Coordinator Specialist Larissa Cantu joined McDonald’s during college. After graduating from UTRGV, she attended Hamburger University in Chicago, and now utilizes what she learned to train shift managers.
